Ringo Chan Flute Studio is Accepting New Flute Students -
Limited Spaces!!
Ringo Chan, Director of the Hong Kong Flute Centre, is now
accepting new flute students to his flute studio. Interested
students could download and fill in the application form below
and send by email to
info@flute.hk.
Students studied under Mr. Chan are expected to possess a
serious attitude towards the study of flute. Mr. Chan has
every expectation that all his students will be trained
professionally at an international benchmark.
A complete and effective curriculum with competitive edge based
on the model of a flute performance program offered by an
internationally recognized music conservatory and an
University's School of Music will be adopted.
In addition to weekly lesson, students are expected to
participate in a wide range of flute-related activities that Mr.
Chan believes are essential for students to arrive a status of
being a professional flute player. These activities include:-

Opportunity to perform as a member of the Hong Kong Flute
Centre Flute Orchestra; |
| 2) |
Opportunity to perform as a chamber musician in all forms of
chamber ensembles; |
| 3) |
Opportunity to learn and play piccolo, alto flute, bass
flute, contrabass flute and subcontrabass flute; |
| 4) |
Opportunity to participate in the annual Hong Kong Summer
Flute Camp to be led by Professor Mary Karen Clardy , Professor
of Flute of the University of North Texas; |
| 5) |
Opportunity to perform in the annual concert organized by the
Hong Kong Flute Centre at the Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall
or the Jockey Club Auditorium of the PolyTechnic University of
Hong Kong; |
| 6) |
Opportunity to participate in flute workshops and
masterclasses conducted by world-renowned guest
flutists; |
| 7) |
Opportunity to meet and talk to internationally
acclaimed flutist in person |
| 8) |
Opportunity to participate in overseas flute
activities such as World Flute Congress in Japan and
Flute Convention organized by the National Flute
Association and British Flute Society; |
| 9) |
Opportunity to participate in the annual Hong Kong
Schools Music Festival and if possible, other
international flute competitions; |
| 10) |
Opportunity to participate in all graded
examinations offered by third party music examination
authorities such as the Associated Board of the Royal
School of Music, Trinity College of Music and Royal
Conservatory of Music etc. |

- The Art of Ensemble Playing |

- Study of Piccolo, Alto Flute, Bass Flute,
Contrabass and Subcontrabass Flute |
Text and study materials used are those universally adopted and
recognized by every corner of the flute world and professions.
Major studies, etudes by Anderson, Koehler, Boehm and Kart-Elert
will be covered. In addition, students are expected to
learn all major flute repertoires.
Throughout the course of study, students will be
constantly evaluated via various means, which will include
reports, ABRSM and Trinity exams and external assessments
by flute professors from various institutions.
